Nathan Westerman was born in Houston, Texas. He received a BFA in Painting and Sculpture in 2001 from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. He received his MFA in sculpture from University Of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2004. Nathan exhibits nationally and his work includes painting, sculpture, photography, video, and installation. Working in a variety of materials, he allows the concept to determine the medium. Nathan has worked in museums, cultural centers, as a display artist, and currently teaches high school Engineering and Welding . Often the discarded materials from his work sites are reclaimed in his art. Nathan lives and works in Champaign, Illinois.
